Is it Really New?

Hello Hello Hello!

Wassup!!
How have you been? I am going to assume the same since March 2020. December disappeared in a blink, right? This year however it turned to be, is finally over. Well, almost over. We still have 3 more days.

I, personally, have lost the meaning of ‘new’. It was just 3 months back that I was super stoked about moving to a new country and starting something new but here I am, 3 months later, and I cannot figure out if new things make sense anymore.

New is an illusion. I believe, it is just an upgraded version of something old; like the version of software on your phone. The words “Brand New” are deceptive. Everyone seems to be very optimistic at the beginning of each new year but, if you’ve lived on the earth for 20 or 30 something years, how can you become a “brand new version” of yourself? I think that is why we say I am X years ‘old’ instead of saying I am X years new.

Hehehee..super deep right? I promise I was not drunk when I wrote that :p Speaking of writing, my book aha..is in the last stage and I’m waiting for drafts of my cover design. I went back and forth thinking about a lot of things regarding the cover, because, let’s be honest..people DO judge a book by its cover and for a minute I did drown in self-doubt. All this will make sense when I reveal the book cover, but for now, let’s just say, I wasn’t confident about certain things, but thanks to my family and friends I decided to give it a shot. (insert tiny ghost emoji here) (Thank you Simon, Rishit and Pavani)

I had my first ever professional photoshoot and OH MY F#$KING GOD was it crazy. My photographer sent me a link to a blog post on dos and don’ts for a photoshoot especially, for headshots. One important point was that women should put on ‘extra’ makeup because apparently the blinding lights in the studio not just blind you but don’t help in covering your flaws.

Ok, I am not complaining, but your girl here is a noob when it comes to makeup and I don’t know jack sh#t about “extra makeup”. Lol. Kajal is the max that I go and that’s it. I can clearly picture my mom shaking her head in disappointment. Dude, honestly, that is the last skill I would want to master but honestly, I am in awe of all those chics out there who have that witchcraft figured out. 😛 😛 😛

Sorry, but not sorry. So, I go in and I tell this awesome photographer that this is my first time doing this and she says I have nothing to worry and the minute all this starts, she tells me to fake laugh. ha ha ha.

Simon stands there staring at me in horror and I try not to act surprised. If you know me, you know how my laugh sounds and it is definitely not the girly, fake ha ha ha type. 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 I have the tractor laugh 😀 more like the engine of a bike that doesn’t want to start. She understood and told me it is okay because those work and when I saw the pictures, believe me, the ones with the fake laugh stood out the most.

Please tell me I am not the only one who thinks makeup is actually depressing because it is supposed to make you look flawless but you can’t help but think about those flaws. And, why you should you hide those flaws? Everyone is human in the end. I mean I would watch John Abraham and Michele Morrone irrespective of whether or not they had makeup on. Same goes for Gal Gadot or Ruby Rose.

Ok, let’s take it up a notch and talk about some positive things. Christmas. I hope your holiday was good and I hope you and your family are having a blast this EOY. I wish nothing but the best for you all and I hope everyone gets to live their life the way they want to, and if you aren’t, make sure you start doing it now. Because…..life is too short and waiting for tomorrow is quite overrated.

On a serious note, go get the life you want. 🙂 🙂 It is never too late.

I will see you again next year with a lot more updates on my book and a lot more updates about my life here in Canada.

Hope you have a wonderful “upgraded year” 😉 and I wish you find what you seek.

Happy “Upgraded/new Year”

Stay Real. Stay YOU.
